It is with great pleasure that we welcome Dr Benedict Barron<\/a> to our Cambridge office. Ben undertook a Master\u2019s degree in Chemistry at the University of Bristol and was awarded a first. This was followed by a PhD in Chemistry hosted internationally between Imperial College, London, and the University of Hong Kong.<\/p>

Ben began work as a synthetic chemist for the contract research organisation, Domainex before moving to GSK where he spent 4 years working as a process chemist. Whilst at GSK, he worked on route optimisation and scale-up activities for multiple pharmaceutical assets, supporting large manufacturing campaigns.<\/p>

He took a particular interest in safety roles within the process chemistry department and gained valuable insight into safety management, matrices, and procedure in a pharmaceutical environment. This ranged from Gemba and Management Monitoring activities, execution and review of genotoxic risk assessments, and volunteering as a first responder to chemical incidents and emergencies.<\/p>
