Supporting the charity helps Myton continue delivering quality care and support for individuals facing terminal illness and their families, specifically within Coventry and Warwickshire. Richard has raised over \u00a3630 so far, surpassing his target of \u00a3100.<\/p>\n<p>Richard, a keen advocate for the charity, said <em>\u201cAfter completing the challenge last year in 2 hours and 22 minutes, getting closer to 2 hours was the aim however, even repeating the same time this year feels like a great achievement. The training has felt harder this time as I have not been able to get out as often as I did last year, but I am still keen to continue supporting the great work that Myton Hospices do\u201d.<\/em> Richard completed the 50km cycle in a time of 2 hours and 20 minutes, marginally quicker than last year. He said \u201c<em>Although it doesn\u2019t seem much, I am happy that I shaved a couple of minutes off last years\u2019 time. It was near perfect weather, not too hot, no rain and not much wind helped\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The event has raised over \u00a370,000 so far, and we would like to congratulate Richard for completing this year\u2019s challenge. He also investigates fires <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawkins.biz\/expertise\/fire-explosions\/vehicle-plant-machinery-fires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">involving motor cars, heavy goods vehicles and plant equipment<\/a>. He also developed and applied a novel approach to presenting crucial witness evidence related to multi-million-pound fire loss at a large industrial site.
