He also reviewed the relationship between impact severity and the likelihood of injury, as well as the techniques that he, as an accident reconstruction expert, would use when investigating an incident and how an injury has been sustained.<\/p><p>John\u2019s presentation included a real-world example from a Hawkins investigation, addressing whether wearing a helmet would have prevented the injuries sustained by a cyclist in an accident. He concluded his presentation by explaining that bicycle helmets are generally well-suited to mitigate injuries during low-speed impacts, toppling from bicycles, and falling after projection, but can be poorly suited to mitigate injuries such as diffuse axonal injury that can occur following collisions with road furniture and sliding. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawkins.biz\/experts\/john-camplin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr John Camplin<\/a> has completed over 500 investigations on a broad range of incidents, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawkins.biz\/forensic-investigation\/road-traffic-collisions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">road traffic collisions<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawkins.biz\/forensic-investigation\/personal-injury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">personal injuries<\/a>.
